Pilates are safe exercises, functional and effective for the prevention and management of musculoskeletal injuries. It is a re-education of the body’s alignment and movement patterns, while promoting core stability, flexability, postural and body awareness and correcting muscle imbalances.
Beginners Pilates takes you through the basic understandings of core setting with breathing,positions and contractions in the correct format. You can progress through levels of intensity and also have use of equipment to challenge your body.
All exercises can be achieved in the comfort of your own home as well.
Pre & Post Natal Pilates:
As Pilates is gentle, low impact form of exercise, it is considered one of the best exercises for pregnant women and can be adapted at each stage of pregnancy. Pilates helps to maintain and improve abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, without putting strain on your joints and back. Strengthening the muscles around the pelvic region can allow for an easier pregnancy, delivery and recovery.
Before able to attend any classes you must have a 1-1 consultant with the therapist, this is to enable you yo learn and understand the 5 key elements of pilates and to fill in a health questionnaire.
